This is Not Hate Speech

Documenting historical atrocities is not hate speech. The Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., Rwanda's Genocide Memorials, the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History — all document historical atrocities committed by specific people against specific communities. They are considered essential educational resources, not hate speech.

This website presents the same kind of documentation for Indian history, using the same standard of primary source evidence. We document what Muhammad Ghori's court historians themselves wrote — celebrating as religious achievements the temple destructions, the conversions of libraries to mosques, and the erasure of India's indigenous intellectual traditions.

This is Not Anti-Muslim

We make absolutely no generalization about Islam, Muslims, or Muslim communities. We are documenting the specific actions of specific medieval rulers in specific historical contexts. Modern Muslims bear no responsibility for the actions of 12th-century rulers — just as modern Germans are not responsible for the Nazi regime, or modern British citizens for the atrocities of British colonialism.

Many of the scholars whose work we draw upon — including Minhaj-i-Siraj Juzjani and Hasan Nizami — were themselves Muslim. The evidence we present is not a Muslim/non-Muslim binary; it is documented history.

This is Not Political

This website is not affiliated with any political party, political movement, or electoral campaign. We do not endorse any political party, ideology, or candidate. Our only agenda is historical education — providing accurate, source-backed information to all Indians regardless of their political affiliation.

Limitations of Historical Knowledge

Medieval history presents inherent challenges:

• Chronicler bias: Primary sources were written by Muslim court historians celebrating their patron's achievements. They may overstate the scale of destruction for rhetorical effect, or understate events that reflect poorly on their patrons.
• Limited archaeological data: Not all claims can be archaeologically verified. Where archaeological evidence is available, we note it. Where it is absent, we rely on textual sources.
• Translation issues: Medieval Arabic and Persian texts present translation challenges. We rely on established scholarly translations.
• Number uncertainty: Specific numbers (manuscript counts, temple counts, slave counts) cited in medieval chronicles are likely approximations or rhetorical figures, not precise records.

Where uncertainty exists, we note it. We do not claim perfection — we claim rigor and good faith.
